New Years Food and Fireworks!

Happy New Year Everyone. Finally got the Camera Working so Here are some shots. Not as good as Steve's but still fun. And Mum, see, I DID make up Pork and Saurkraut for New Years, carrying on the Family tradition!! (Though the Rye Bread I got at the Store was nowhere near as good as Grams's)
I staked out a place early in the day on Strawberry Hill for that nights frenzy......
...While Steve would have been over on Haystack for his awesome shots. (Note to self, an "accident" needs to happen to his new "Big Boy" Camera, Or I need to swipe a good one from the Discovery Channel Photographers in time for the Fourth of July)
And So it begins.....

This shot marks the end of my good Camera and the switch to my I-Phone. You will notice how the pinpricks of light almost look like the initials 'RR', which is Ironic as HE was supposed to go out with all of us that night and called off at the last minute. Everyone say SHAME ON RR!!!

You know for I-Phone shots they actually came out pretty good.

I am not making any resolutions this year. For the most part they end up being empty promises forgotten by Valentines Day. I will continue to treat my employees as good as I can, Explore More of the Island (BTW Got out to Morris Cove yesterday and saw the wild Horses, Posting on that tomorrow), and deliver all the Deadliest Catch news I can without ruining the season for all of you (And GOD with some of the stuff I know I SOOOOO could!!!)

I Pray everyone has as good a New Year as mine is looking to be!!!

And A Great Big Welcome to mamawas and Mick Muise, the Newest Followers of Dutch Harbor Dirt!!

Ok, I am out of Here for the Day. Going to go to all the docks and see what DC boats are in town and take some pictures. Probably will post that on the Sunday Brunch.

Have a Great Day everyone!!

Great pictures. I have never heard of pork and sauerkraut for New Years. Here in the south it's black eyed peas, cornbread and greens (I use spinach whereas others use collard greens). Thanks for sharing!

The pics are quite good! I would love it if you could post a map that shows us where all of these locations are in relation to each other. My boys are traveling today and will be in Dutch tomorrow. Take good care of them! :D
I'm with you on the resolutions...there are goals I would like to see achieved this year, but resolutions usually end up forgotten in my world too.
Hugs!

OMG!! I just got some AWESOME shots of the Northwestern. I may just have to tease you all with a few of them tomorrow so I can build up attendance at Sunday Brunch. Got some of The Rollo and The Farwest Leader Too!!!

If you get a firm time e-mail me to let me know. Also if they need reservations. The DC Photogs start arriving on Monday so It is going to get a little tight at the Hotel soon

I think the photos of the fireworks are wonderful. My phone does not even take a decent daytime picture, and you captured fireworks.

Can't wait to see the other pics of the boats, and I agree with Mystic, we need a map so we know where everything is.

Thank you darlin'. I just texted Travis, but since they are in transit, I don't know when I'll hear back.
Keith won't be there for another week or so.
You are tops!
Hugs,
Mystic

Pork and Sauerkraut is a Staple in PA at New Years.
Reading and Kim, I will give little hints, but I do not want to ruin it for you.
Mystic and Erie
I am going to be working on Maps while I am uploading pictures today. I'll see how far I get

I absolutely love pork and sauerkraut - I make it often in the crockpot! Nice tradition! Sorry, Steve's fireworks pics are much better - I've never had any luck taking fireworks pics. Now your pics of the boats, on the other hand are awesome and you take many, many more than Steve! Keep 'um comin'!
