Sunny Day, Why not a trip to the Pyramid?

So I have shown you Pyramid peak before from this angle, but always thought it was something that I would have to attempt to climb in the summer. (Got our first outing planned already Little Sis and Austin!!) On our Lunch break yesterday Dan showed me that it can easily be done in an afternoon!! (Not that we had time yesterday, but he showed me the trail)

Up Behind Westward Seafoods, Where The Wizard Offloads, you can follow the road up almost to the resevior.........

..............and the views up there can just not be beat!!!!

The Storm, The Aftermath, and The Waves

The Storm was cool,
I really must say,
the perfect excuse
To stay in bed most of the day...........

Once sleep was done,
I just had to go,
take a look outside,
right by the shore...........

The Frozen waterfalls of Bunker Hill,
Standing under them is not smart,
Unless suicide is your thrill.....

With mighty waves Crashing,

and Snow in the air,

Time to head home,

And rest my weary head.

Day OFF!!

Finally, I have a Day Off!! My Assistant is back so I Got to sleep in all day today and then go for a little walk around Little South America so I could get Dani and Lori their snow pictures. I will post them Tomorrow.

NOW however I need to Clean the Apt, Do Dishes and Laundry, Cook some supper, and finish watching the Movies I rented yesterday.

Blizzard Warning, Nesting, Grocery Store.......And you thought you paid alot for food?

So This is Coming through on the wires today..........
UNALASKA... NIKOLSKI 509 AM AKST WED JAN 28 2009 ... BLIZZARD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 3 AM AKST THURSDAY... THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ANCHORAGE HAS ISSUED A BLIZZARD WARNING... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 3 AM AKST THURSDAY. THE BLIZZARD WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM CURRENTLY MOVING THROUGH THE ALEUTIANS WILL BRING STRONG NORTHERLY WINDS TO DUTCH HARBOR THIS AFTERNOON. COLDER TEMPERATURES WILL CAUSE PRECIPITATION TO FALL AS SNOW. WINDS WILL BE 35 TO 45 MPH AND CAUSE BLOWING SNOW TO REDUCE VISIBILITIES TO LESS THAN ONE QUARTER MILE AT TIMES.A BLIZZARD WARNING MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. FALLING AND BLOWING SNOW WITH STRONG WINDS AND POOR VISIBILITIES ARE LIKELY. THIS WILL LEAD TO WHITE-OUT CONDITIONS... MAKING TRAVEL EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. SOOOO are you like most people? When a storm is coming they head to the grocery store to stock up on supplies. So that then they can go home and Nest. Be it Hurricane or Blizzard the store always gets hit hard before hand. Of Course here in Dutch Harbor/Unalaska You might need a second mortgage to stock up completely..............

Produce is especially pricey, though for the most part it is of a good quality.

Meat can be a bit expensive too, though I must say I am actually getting better beef here than in Florida.

Canned Goods can Really sock it to you!!!! (Especially those $1.99 little cans)

Spices are right up there too.........

Along with cake mixes and the like.

Yes, this is the Price when they are on SALE!!

Coffee Fiends Beware!!!

And I really must say what Kids Cereals go for is a Crime!!! (I feel sorry for all the Parents)

Even My Beloved Mountain Dew is a Bit Pricy for a 12 pack!!!

And All I can say about bottled water is that I am glad our Tap water Comes out Super cold and is good tasting!!!

Paper Products can really cost you...........

..........And of course the price of Coke Stinks (Just like the product itself) LOL!

$9.00 for a frozen Pizza?

And $5.00 for a crappy tasting Healthy Choice Meal?

Yes, 6 rolls of Charmin for $13.00. (I buy Scotts)

Say CHEESE!!!!!

Medicine will set you back a Pretty Penny..........

And the price of Bread, Milk, Eggs, Butter and Cheese is really best left uncommented upon.

So Remember, The next time YOU go to the store, just be thankful it is not in Dutch Harbor/Unalaska!!!
