Also, question for you: if I wanted to visit DH one day, is this the time of year to visit, or the time of year to hold at arms' length due to weather?

And my goodness, I was excited when I went out to work this morning and we had SNOW in MIssissippi. It didn't last long, nor did the sleet this afternoon, but it is a balmy 26 degrees right now, which is way cold for us.
BZ, I am sure CB will give you the scoop, but from all the stories I have heard, now is not the time to visit--you could spend all of your time stuck in Anchorage in the airport. :)
I have been to the A-P Islands in July and in August, and it is definitely worth the wait...and you can be delayed for weather even then.
