It was a Really nice day today, But out in the Bering A MAJOR storm is brewing with hurricane force winds. Everyone send theor love and prayers to the boats still out!!
Dutch Habor is the ONLY port in the United states to have it's own zip code.
I had to go mail some packages today, so I thought I would show you that Dutch Harbor is not just water, but a real place.............(Waiting for the Unalaskans tComments....LOL)
And Certain people might want to keep their eyes on their mailboxes.
By next week when the packages arrive this photo will make alot more sense..

I can't wait...do I need to pitch a tent by my mailbox...only kidding...looks like a beautiful day in your neck of the woods.......
hahah Cute CB... I for one am glad for the DH branch of the PO! Our Unalaska PO is calm and mellow with all locals, no "worker-guys" as my kids call all the transients making the line very long.
do eagle attack the mailmen? DO you even have mail delivery to homes?
Donna
I think it's great to see the post office...a lot of us send stuff up there and it's neat to see where it lands!
I really enjoy your posts about the town CB. :)
We don't get USPS mail delivered to our homes we go to one of the 2 POs.
None of the workers have been
attacked but my poor boss was last spring. She was wheeling a noisy cart with packages and the Eagles that nest right by the DUT PO evidently were annoyed! One of them attacked her head! There were a bunch of incidents last year.
Oh my.. I thought my eagle attack was a humorous side remark. Sorry to hear the head was attacked.
Door to Door mail delivery is decreasing in the lower 48 too. Many new neighboorhoods have one box at the corner of the block for a dozen or so families to use.
DOnna
we are fortunate to have door to door service. But mostly because the place they would put such a mailbox...keeps getting hit by drunk drivers. the last guy to do it left his vehicle at the scene and ran up the street to his house in the hopes he wouldnt be caught! i dont suppose one of those packages would be for me...doubt it. Love the pics.
Then Dutch Harbor is a real place and not just a body of water! I am so glad the PO is on dry land, cannot imagine soggy mail in my box! Thanks for the photos CB, and may there be one more blizzard in your future.
CB I love reading all about Dutch/Unalaska. Between you, Mel and Alena I feel like I am there sometimes and have learned so much about y'alls world. If you ever want to learn more about my world in Texas or just need a laugh here is the link to my blog http://texashottflash.blogspot.com/
Keep up the good work, Sindee
Guess my Prince Charming is not in one of the envelopes!
Love Sis
We are now having 80 mile an hour winds. No mail today.
I love the Unalaska side Post Office. Jennifer goes out of her way to get me my mail and boxes.
CB nice pictures it is great to see the Post Office. Thank you for sharing with us and telling about your adventures.
13th comment, hee, hee.
I would be afraid to open up a package from CB because he would probably be getting even with me for all of those 13th comments. Ya know, letter bombs are illegal CB
LOVE the wind!! LOVE LOVE Jennifer on the Unalaska side PO. Well. I love Ana too. The DUT PO is a big controversy LOL the conversations at Scrapbooking get very heated between "locals" who say it needs to be the DH Branch of the Unalaska PO and others who think we maybe need just the big DH PO. LOL we're all spunky here!
Can I just say that you rock CB?!?!?! Cuz you do!!!
