Our Wonderful Governor Fights the Socialist Agenda by rejecting Stimulis Funds that are unsustainable!

Sorry Alena!, But I just gotta do this! And to everyone else, I do not want to turn this blog political, but the loss of our American Right to Self Determination is something I can not just keep quiet about any longer!

First of all We do not know the specifics of what is to be rejected yet.The governor’s office said the specifics of what she does and doesn’t plan to accept will be made available online once her bill is submitted to the Legislature.
Stating that she was wary of federal “strings,” attached to the stimulus funding, the governor asked:
“Will we chart our own course, or will Washington (D.C.) engineer it for us?”
In Other Words, There is NO such thing as a "Free Ride" Accepting this money means more control given to Washington DC and the Corrupt politicians that got us all in this mess to begin with.

Expressing her commitment to the principles of federalism and the division of powers envisioned by the founders, Gov. Palin quoted Thomas Jefferson:

“When all government domestic and foreign, in little as in great things, shall be drawn to Washington as the center of all power, it will render powerless the checks provided on one government on another, and will become as oppressive as the government from which we separated.

Rejected by Palin’s bill will be millions that the governor says will force Alaska to increase the size of government, spend more taxpayer dollars or pass new legislation which Alaskans might not want.
Palin’s reasoning for just saying “no” to the funding is that the energy money would require Alaska to enact building code legislation, while the other funds could result in more state employees being hired and programs enacted that can’t be maintained in the future. The governor declared:
“We are not requesting funds intended to just grow government. We are not requesting more money for normal day to day operations of government as part of this economic stimulus package. In essence we say no to operating funds for more positions in government.”
In a press conference this morning, Gov. Palin said she looks forward to a public discussion in the Legislature about other funding in what she dubbed a “growth of government package.”
She said she hopes the Legislature will have enough time to take up the stimulus issues before an April 3 deadline for her to accept the federal money. Palin said that she won’t “get myself in a box” by saying she will or will not veto measures by the Legislature which might accept more money than she is advising.
Not analyzing the future costs associated with short term gains is what got this country into the mess it is in right now.
I say BRAVO Sarah!! Do what is RIGHT! Not what is Easy!
Does Everyone out there really want the corrupt power brokers of Washington DC in Charge of your daily lives from Birth to Grave? Who gave them those rights? The sad fact is that the American voters did, and every time we choose the easy way and easy money we surrender a bit more of our rights and our freedom to choose. Do you want the same people that allowed the AIG bonuses to go through crafting legislation on your health? Do you want your second Amendment rights to be taken away because of a drug war in Mexico? How about all the money in the stimulus bill that went to ACORN and other like groups that participate in voter FRAUD?
The American Voter is the only person that can chip away at our basic rights. Someone has to say No.
Good for Sarah!
Ok, I now await your hate. (But I will not take it personally as long as you do not get Personal)

That Constitutional Right is in the Bill of Rights. Our Current Attorney General is already trying to go after the Second Amendment, how long till they go after our First?

Way to go CB. Sarah Palin is right! The Attorney General is already going after the first amendment. There is alot of talk about the government censoring what is said on the radio during political talk shows. How long before all of our other rights are taken away! When does it stop? Sorry all but I had to get that off my chest!

It is refreshing to hear from someone who shares a similar view as a Catholic Republican. I am proud of the Governors who are saying no to the strings attached stimulus money. We really need to think about who we vote for in
2010.

Its a shame that there is no checks and balances in our own government anymore. we hear about the amount of deficit we have already...where is this money coming from and how will it devalue our dollar even more?

Hey, Anonymous person number two, it might come from the fact that the government might not allow you to deduct your income tax from your home on your federal tax return. Well that is something that our governer was thinking about on next year state tax return in NJ.

Also you would like to know that I voted for McCaine as well.

I'm ready to get pounded for it but I'm what I call a Demopublican. LOL! Half and half, I guess. Voted for Obama and don't envy the mess to clean up.

CB, you make some very good points in this blog. And so does Sarah Palin. It's all something to think about. I'd hate to be hired by my state in the next few months, think I'm golden, then have them gut the fire services again. That would be bad. All points I, personally, hadn't considered.

Hey, it isn't easy being a Republican right now, so I commend you for exercising your rights as an American. Too many just sit silently out of fear. You have big cajones and you ROCK!

CB does politics! Woo-hooo! And for going astray, I'll wager you'll get a few - ahem - unfortunate comments in your blog or your e-mail.

In any event, your Governor has some important things in her future, I believe.

As you so clearly state, there is no such thing as a free lunch and ANY, I repeat, ANY "stimulus" or "handout" from DC comes with MULTIPLE strings. In for a penny, in for a pound. If you accept the cash, you also accept all the accompanying riders AND, in DOING so, you also find slices of your individuality and independence being cut away.

Thanks for your stand on this, CB; you can NEVER go wrong embracing the Constitution -- which is NOT a "living document" -- and embracing the original intent of our founding fathers.

If you give one freedom away, others shall soon follow. . .

And so goes your independence, your free thought, your free writings, your abilities, your ability to even take risk. . .
