Just getting really weird and Haunting Shots out by the Memorial the other day.......
Anyway though, Will you all please join me for Brunch in The Chart Room at the Grand Aleutian Hotel in Dutch Harbor Alaksa. For those Avid, and quick, Followers of Deadliest Catch , THIS is the Table that Sig and Edgar sat at when Edgar won the "bet" on that "String" in the Last episode.
The Feta Cheese is REALLY good Today! Great Job Rich! So Nummy!!
Apple Crepes again.......
and then some Fish and Orange Chicken..........
.......But the Beef Roast was The Star today. REALLY, REALLY good!
And Of COURSE the Desserts. You can tell Junior is back with all the strawberries Huh?
It is just not a Sunday Brunch Without Junior! It is just bland, grey and lifeless without him.Which is ANOTHER reason why his Mum should allow him to stay in town while the family goes on vacation...........with the exception of the trip to Kodiak. I guess we could go one or two weeks without him..........
And a New "Character" enters the stage, Everyone say HI! to Mr Seagull!!!
Took the beach route up the back side of Bunker Hill after work yesterday........
There is starting to be Green Everywhere on the the Hill.
And Yet Another new Character enters the Stage. Everyone say Hello to MR. Squirrel!
Yup, evidently "Word" has gotten around amoung the Critters on the island that if you see CB there is a good chance of a "Treat". (Alexander has a big mouth) Mr. Squirrel was more than happy to pose for a few pictures in exchange for some cheese popcorn.......
And NOW I can PROVE IT!! COKE=EVIL!! During my little Trek I came accross several cans of that most evil of Beverages , Coca-Cola!!
Now, to be fair I found a few beer cans too, BUT NO PEPSI PRODUCTS, such as my Beloved Mountain Dew. It just proves that people who Drink Mountain Dew, and other Pepsi products, are just better people, who would not litter up Bunker Hill. Not to worry though, I picked them all up and transported them back to the Dumpster at my Apartment. (Sorry guys, no recycling here or they would have gone there)
As I said before, Bunker is starting to "Spring" with green.........
..........can you still call these "Pussy Willows" or will someone get offended?
A Nice shot over to the Unalaska side.......
.....a good view of Captains bay...........
.......and my all time favorite view of Dutch Harbor.
Over on the other hill you can just barely make out Zac and Jack (They came up the "Easy" way)
So anyway, once I got up to the top of the Bunker, I decied it would be a good place to have Supper. a Nice Turkey Sub, some Corn Chips and of Course, Mountain Dew!
Another Similiar View of Dutch.....
And I will leave you all with an Eagle. I could almost hear him chuckling that no matter how far I climb his view will always be better than mine!!
Have a great Sunday Everyone!

Thank you CB!! Love the pictures today. Thanks for showing us where Sig bought baby brother dinner! he did amazing on that string! Brunch looks incredible.
food looks great!!
nice pix!!
See you soon!!
~April Dawn~
We have a thread discussing the Edgar/Sig dinner on NW forums, so your picture was the perfect answer to a question on the bet being paid or forgotten
CB - I love these pictures! I do have one question, Is this a squirrel that you were feeding? It looks like a prairie dog. Also you mentioned it was Mr Squirrel. Upon further examination of the pictures it appears that he is actually a she! Unless he has some she parts.....
food looks fabulous...I am starving, may I have a little of everything...
CB brunch looks great i just love the fresh Salmon and crab, the strawberries stole the show. Maybe we can convince CD to let junior stay behind LOL... I love the seagull and squirrel pictures excellent also all the different scenic views. So nice of you to pick up the discard trash. I enjoyed your supper view what a nice sight to enjoy with your meal.
That's the biggest squirrel I've ever seen! Everything is BIGGER in Alaska.
Great Sunday post CB and thanks for the great pictures...
In that last Dutch Harbor picture, that looks like Auriga & Aurora from Anacortes....?
Good food, good pics. Thanks CB. Is that a ground squirrel? All I ever see are the bushy tailed grays.
I want to see that view when I am there!
I tell you what, I would definitely have to diet all week long just to be able to eat the Sunday Brunch at the GAH. Loved mr squirrel and the view of Dutch is really beginning to look alot like Spring. Oh, and would you sometime post the wording on the memorial (I can't remember if you had posted it previously)? I can make out the first para (when the photo is enlarged) but can't make out the rest. Great pic!
Had to work all weekend, so I'm extra late for brunch. Any chance of leftovers? There was something about the parfaits (especially the chocolate banana one) that really hit the spot.
I feel for you with the smoking ban. I'm a non-smoking nurse so the reasoning behind it hits a good note. The way they did it though - totally sucks! Sounds like it's time for a little rebellion in Unalaska.
Love the menagerie that you're gathering together there, CB. Better watch out though . . . with all their unique talents, they'll have you eaten out of house and home in no time!
Kathy :o)
Hey! Couldn't bear to miss out on the chance for a lucky 13 posting. Any rare to medium rare roast beef left? That would make for an absolutely awesome Monday lunch sandwich!!
Kathy :o)
No fresh salmon around here yet! A month or 2 to go....
AND whatever CB. We're going many places BUT Kodiak this time. He's got to come to WRG for a month. I'm letting him skip playing tourist in ANC and relatives in Washington. Maybe if he'd done his pre-cal instead of art class....he will be doing pre-cal for a month.
ohh but I am jealous that you saw a squirrel! I haven't seen one. And we're coming to brunch next week. Happy Mother's Day to me! The boat will be gone :(
CB - I'm so sorry I doubted you! I just looked it up and you have an artic ground squirrel! It looks just like a prairie dog! I love it! I want those in Mass. All we have is your basic grey squirrel and a few black ones. I really don't like them because they ate the tops off my tulips. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself!
Sorry I have been MIA CB but I have been under the weather. I am also TRYING to quit smoking and it is damned hard. I love your love of critters and really think you should do a post about all of the wildlife on the island. Mr Squirrel and the others need first names. I would suggest Sig Squirrel but considering it is Dutch maybe not. How about Shirley? In the old days it was a gender neutral name!
I think you can say "pussy willows" without offending any of us!
Loved the pictures and the Mt. Dew! I've been dieting and I cut out regular soda....diet Mt. Dew is not the same!! So please drink a Mt. Dew for me!!!
Now CB, don't be a coke hater. Just because there are a few bad apples out there it doesn't mean we are all bad.
It's not like the coke can said throw me on the ground...CB will be around to pick me up and I can annoy him!!
What a beautiful view! :)
CB,
Do you think there may be no Mt.Dew litterers because you are the only one in the state that drinks that particular beverage? The other 99.8% drink Coke products therefore are bound to have a rotten egg in the bunch that tosses wherever they please. ;)
I drink tons of Mountain Dew.. and my hubby is a Pepsi drinker!
I would know too since I do the store orders for our village, that most of our village are Pepsi and Mountain Dew drinkers. There are only maybe 5% Diet Coke drinkers...
so SORRY... don't try to talk for our State by trying to say the 99.8% drink nasty a$$ Coke products and saying CB is the only pepsi product drinker, when there are a lot more of us who live in this state that perfer Pepsi products over Coke.
As far as I care it's 50/50 and both drinkers of both products (or any product) litter just as much as anyone else.
PROVING, with CONCLUSIVE evidence, that those who drink Coke ARE, in fact, Evildoers!
BZ
Good Lord people, it was a joke. I would never intentionally offend CB or anyone else.
