This particular boat has docked in Dutch Harbor every year for the past 20 years, and they always throw a wonderful little party!
Since the parent company of Unisea is Japanese, many of out managment were there to welcome the ship and her crew. And Larz, Sister of Alena!, and local blog fodder was there.
There was sooooo much food, Sushi, and noodles, and cakes and Japanese beer and saki and CB got very full!!!
Children, you should NEVER EVER smoke!!! HOWEVER if you do the guys like to trade and try different Cigarettes so I was swapping a few with the pack of researchers I hung out with most of the night. This one had like a slight vanilla overtone and was very mild. They got a Big kick out of my Newport Lights, in fact one said my cigs made him dizzzy.............LOL (BTW Cb's Little Sis, This is when you texted me, and the guys all wanted to play with my i-phone!)
We ate, we drank, we smoked and had a really good time!!
Stopped by this morning and snapped these photos because I do not think the one last night showed the true size of the vessel. Its 239 feet long, Bigger than all of the boats on DC.
In fact it is docked in the Cornelia Marie's Favorite spot.
Anyway CB's Little Sis and Nephew, they Might be back in when you are here so maybe we might be able to go on there too.
Have a great day everyone!!

That is so cool. Loved the pics you took! Are you the new Dutch Harbor Ambassador? Never thought about trading cigs like one would trade sports cards....
Great community activist CB.
DOnna
Is this the same ship on Whale Wars? If so, please tell them I apologize for the behavior of the Sea Sheppard. They are an embarressment for this country.
No, They are not on Whale wars. I may not be an enviromentalist (Heck I think this Global warming crap is just that, CRAP Junk science) but I would not set foot on a whaler. It's much different than the few whales that the natives in Alaska do each year.
What is the Sea Sheppard?
Awesome party CB, how cool that you got to attend. I like the exchanging packs of cigarettes. That is a cool way to get some great souvenirs. I hope they come back when your family is there that would be a great trip to see the ship and meet the crew. They food looked very yummy so glad you got to get some pictures to share.
I love your "sis countdown"!!
What a nifty party! Looks like everyone really enjoyed the day! Weather looked pretty nice as well!
Bad Bad Cigarette habit CB!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks like you had a great time, CB! Hope your Little Sis and Nephew get a chance to the whip on their visit too.
Looks like a good time was had by all. And I so very much LOVE sushi...
How do you keep your job?
Glad you do...but I just shake my head... figuring out how you keep employed.
If I was your boss.... lol
Glad to hear it is not a whaler, but when you say "research", I wonder. Anonymous should be not be apologizing to anyone for the Sea Shepherd. I applaud the people on the Sea Shepherd for protecting the animals in the oceans and against the Japanese "research" ships that are truly killing a multitude of whales for consumption! Disgusting! I sponsor three orcas (which are not whales) from The Whale Museum in San Juan Island, WA and feel all dolphins, whales, seals... should be/need to be protected! I do not know if Global warming is true or not. But killing other species, destroying the earth in many ways has and will come back to haunt us.
HAVE A NICE VIST
