Calling up the Big Guns to stop a Volcano, Asking Saint Michael The Archangel to Intercede Against Mt ReDoubt

Sancte Michael Archangele, defende nos in praelio.
Contra nequitiam et insidias diaboli esto praesidium.
Imperet illi Deus, supplices deprecamur.
Tuque princeps militiae caelestis, Satanam aliosque spiritus malignos, qui ad perditionem animarum pervagantur in mundo divina virtute in infernum detrude.
Amen.
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle,
be our protection against the malice and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him we humbly pray;
and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls.
Amen
When you pray to a saint, it is not in worship, but rather asking for an intercession on your or others behalf. Saint Michael the Archangel has long been my Patron Saint. He is always there when I need him. I find saying his prayer in Latin is most comforting in hard times, but I have included the English version for those who do not speak Latin. Saint Michael is the Prince of all the Angels in Heaven and the one who, gifted by God with His strength, kicked Satan's Ass. He is called upon by Mariners, Police Officers and Exorcists alike to drive out evil, and Stand with humans against the dark. Saint Jude is the patron saint of "lost causes" but with Saint Michael there are no such things. When I think of evil and hell I think (rightly or wrongly) of Fire, Lava, smoke and flames. In other words a Volcano. Who better to take on a Volcano than Saint Michael?
I am asking everyone who reads this blog to say the prayer for the intercession of Saint Michael, so that I will be able to make it home in time for Easter with my Family.
Thank you everyone!!

Busy Busy Busy Week thanks to the Redoubt Volcano

It has been SUCH a busy week due to all the flights being canceled that I must admit I have been a bit lazy about going out and about this week.

It is rather disheartning to see all the guests head to the airport each morning all excited to be going home, and then return in the afternoon, exhausted from just waiting around all day and going nowhere. I like the amount of Revenue this is generating, but the Hospitality Professional in me just wants to make the guest happy and that will not be happening till they head home.

Anyway though, I just wanted to check in and say HI to everyone! Hopefully The CORNELIA MARIE will be in on Saturday unloading the last of their Quota at Unisea and I will be able to "Follow That Crab!" once again!

Pictures are not Uploading right now so I will just have to say Goodnight!!

Mt Redoubt Eruption, Maps in Relation to Dutch, People Stranded and Dessert!!

So Mount Redoubt near Anchorage is Erupting. You have probably seen it on the news.
It is quite a ways away from us, but is still affecting us in major ways.
This is from the 1989 Eruption, not the Current one!!
We have not had any planes fly in or out for several days. This means no Mail and a full hotel of people done with the season and just wanting to go home. Let's just say SOME of them are not "Happy Campers"
One of the Flights that usually come in several times a day. NOT HAPPENING NOW!!
So no flights in and out of our charming little airport, Grumpy guests, and a few employees waiting to go on vacation that are really "Fracking Pissed" to use the Battlestar Galactica terminology.
Which is a shame because the weather has actually been "brilliant" out here. When that sun comes out on all the new snow it is BLINDING!
ANYWAY though, Because we are alot busier than we were supposed to be I had to call in some people that had today off to handle the extra work. To try to make up for it, and give them all a bit of a energy, I baked three Desserts last night for them to snack on all day while at work,
My Homemade Lemon Squares.........
.........My special recipe Chocolate/Peanut Butter Cake with Cream Cheese Icing.....

....and a White Cake with Fudge Bits and Mini Chocolate Chip Icing.

I am REALLY starting to miss the Mail, especially as I am waiting for something from Mystic!!

Anway though, have a Great Day

Things like this really PI$$ me off!!!!!

How do you make CB Really Really REALLY Pi$$ed Off?

Burning or trashing books, ANY BOOKS, even environazi lie-filled books like all of Al Gore's, is a crime against the entire human race. Radical Islamists, Nazi's, Some southern Baptists, radical Enviromentalists and many other groups have committed this blasphemy.Censorship by mob rule. Monsters and Scum all I say!! And the New "Fairness Doctrine" being talked about by idiots like Pelosi and Reed in Washington DC is just one more form of censorship. Do you really think the German people of the 1930's saw the evil of the Nazi's at the beginning when they promised a "rebirth of the Fatherland"? No. They just time after time handed over more power and sovergn rights to the "party" in exchange for "security" both monetary and political, Until it was too late. Remember history America or Be doomed to repeat it!

Anyway this rant is coming about because of what a guest left in the trash at the hotel.

HE THREW OUT LIBRARY BOOKS!!!!!!!!!!!

HOW DARE HE?!!

I would love to post his name all over the internet but that would be unprofessional and illegal.

Are these books great works of literature or even socially pertinant? Probably not, but they are BOOKS and deserve the same respect as Shakespere, Plato, or Amber Benson!

So, to you sir, whomever you are:

GO TO HADES!!!

CB

PS Lauri, Got a Whole bunch of library books here for you!

A bit late posting Brunch Today, It is Really Stormy up Dutch Harbor way. It goes from this...

........To this.........

........to this....

.......and then back again.

It has been really cold this past week, about the coldest it has been all winter with temps in the Low 20'sF. Part of Margaret Bay is frozen over again, though it is thawing now. Forecast is for snow all this week till Thursday with temps in the High 20'sF to low 30'sF. All the planes got canceled yesterday due to the Blizzard warning. (Yes, I will say this is FINALLY the storm I wanted before spring. It can stop now.) My Public Attendant and I have been running both hotel vans back and forth to the airport dropping off guests that are hoping to get out today. It has pretty much been nonstop from like 9am this morning. We will see if my luck at the airport extends to those I just bring there that I do not "see Off", or bring Emergency Chocolate too....

Now, On to Sunday Brunch!!!

Turf..................?

...And/or Surf?

Rich, The Executive Chef made up this Amazing looking tomato platter that I am sure my Mum would love!! (Everyone did, it got wiped out quickly)

I miss the Pomegranates!! (I know, Wrong Season, but still!!!)

Nice and Spicy........

...Can't tell you what this tastes like. I hate Leeks so I did not even try. Sorry!

But the Smoothies (Another Rich Creation) and desserts were great as always.
(Junior Made up some Strawberry Tarts for you today Dani!!)

Eddie is going back home to the Phillipines for a month on his vacation, and will be missed!! (Fact is my scheduled vacation overlaps his so I only have to be without his PERFECT French Toast and Pancakes for two weeks....yeah, he is THAT good!)

Eddie, Willie and Junior! (What a good way to start Sunday Brunch!)

So, To recap the week

Katherine Left and Came back along with City Council.......

Darryl FINALLY got his Wii

Sarah Palin is Awesome!!

And CB went back to high school for the first of a Five Saturday Excel Class.

See! I do Go over to the Unalaska side Sometimes..............!!!!

And Finally, The Cornelia Marie should be back in the next day or so on their last trip with Opilio. And the Wizard should be just about done with Bardi. Hopefully I will get to see them all before I head out of here on the 4th. Kinda Hard to believe that in a little over two weeks I will be kicking back in Pennsylvania and not having brunch at the Grand!!

Anyway, everyone have a great Sunday!!!
