A walk in the Clouds........

Ok, I did not get out of work as early as I thought, so all my grand plans of Laundry, Cooking a big dinner and cleaning the house sorta got put off till Tuesday, my day off. Still had like 2 hours to kill before my date so I decided to take a walk. Bunker Hill just looked so cool covered in clouds I just knew I had to check it out.
As I said yesterday, it was all a bit surreal with the clouds hanging so low, and just a few hundred feet of clear air at sea level.
The Flowers sure do look great though in all the mist..........Although I really hope that yellow one is not the Island's version of Goldenrod..........
Even the Eagles were a bit sluggish and just chillin out yesterday.
As I climbed up Bunker the Deliniation between the Clouds and the clear air became more apparant.
You can just barely see the Bunker in the above photo..........
When You get up here you can really see why there have been no planes for a day or so........
As I Approached the Bunker the clouds just closed in over Dutch Harbor/Unalaska.........
Even with all the cloud cover the Wildflowers just stood out, maybe even better than when sunny.
Can not even see the Red Roof of the hotel in this photo, and most of Unisea was Obscured.
Could not even see the "Bridge to the Other Side"!
Of course MtDew Enjoyed the whole hike Immensely!!
There really is nothing more peaceful than to be sitting up high...........
..........have the clouds completely engulff you.........
...........blanketing out all the nosie, worries and stresss in your life.........
.........crack open a nice Cold MtDew..........
.........and just let it all flow out of you. Stress, Tiredness, and all the Bullshit that life sometimes hands us.............just let it go, and enjoy Here and Now while Clouds tickle your face and the moisture saturates you, and the only thing you can smell are the wildflowers . Nothing by you, Clouds, Flowers and MtDew. I'll be able to carry that moment with me for the rest of the week.
Besides, I love just playing in the Clouds and the Mist with Flowers and birds and Squirrels. I am a Fairy after all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL
ALL too soon it was tiem to head home so I decided to go down the "Front Face" of Bunker Hill. Idiot that I am I fell on my A$$ a few times and got all muddy, but it was so Worth it!!!
Thanks Bunker Hill for the Great Hike!!!

pensive mood today for CB!! Do the long time locals say this is typical fog for Unalaska in the summer?? I pictured weeks of sunshine for some reason.

Hope you self- evaluative "fairy" remark is with a light heart.

Name calling any perosn with a difference can rile this special education teacher quickly. All humans deserve dignity and respect. My students are routinely name-called w/o thought to the person hearing and being hurt by the words. It is like the person with a difference isn't even physically present when some of these conversations occur too.

I have the authority at school to deal with the situations and educate the offending speakers luckily. Many remarks are ignorance based.

OMGosh, the fireweed is already blooming over there!! Ours is just starting to put the pink parts out but haven't opened yet... so sad to see that Fall is here when we barley had that great a summer...

hope all is going great over there!! we might do the ferry run this end of this month, but we'll see, if we do I'll make sure to let you know!! :) I have to start making sure I eat more fruits and veggies (not that easy to get over here compared to over there).

Love the pictures, CB. I've been sitting here for a few minutes staring at the and finally realized why it sounded so familiar - it was a movie with Keanu Reeves. Sappy and romantic, it's a perfect way to spend a drizzly afternoon! Hope you had a good time on your date and your day off.

CB, it certainly is another world up there.
I can almost smell the ultra-fresh air.
Thanks for sharing your walk with those of us tied in the lower 48 ...

CB - Thanks for sharing the walk. It was so relaxing to read!

We had some fun last night when a overanxious fan fell in the water and Johnathan saved her with the help of Josh Harris. If anyone wants to read the story go to my
myspace.com/oreo340 and read my bulletin.

Have a great day off!!
