Laurell K Hamilton's "Divine Misdemeanors" meets Two of the Deadliest Catch Boats, and Winter Solstice In Unalaska

It's the Shortest day of the year In Dutch Harbor/Unalaska. Kind of slow at the Hotel so CB Decided to have a little Fun...........

I have been a fan of Laurell K. Hamilton for years, I Just hovever came across her Blog and added it http://blog.laurellkhamilton.org/index.php/site/index/ to my blog list. Her stories are Intense, evocative, sensual and downright frightning. Her Latest is one from her Meredith Gentry series, entitled "Divine Misdemeanors". For those of you who have NOT read any of her works I just have to say.......Go!!! GO NOW!!! There is a Barnes and Nobles open somewhere. Heck, order online!! Her two main series are the Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter stories and the Princess Meredith Gentry of Fairie novels. Both are in the Genre that Laurell pretty much created "Urban Fantasy", Stories that take place in "present Day America" with the slight change of Vampires, Were-creatures and/or Fairies being real, and part of "our" history. Awesome stories that are also a Tad bit Naughty.............LOL. Laurell celebrates Solstice so I thought I would make today a fun little trip for her book.

Anyway, I simply could not put Down "Divine Misdemeanors" so the novel accompanied me all over Dutch Harbor/Unalaska Today.......

....From Checking in on the Cornelia Marie..............

........to checking in on the Eagles at the Hotel.........

...And What is that Boat in the Distance at the Trident Dock?

Oh, It's the Billikin!!!

Oh, and I guess the Northwestern is There too!!

Now Longer time Blog readers will remember the last time I took a book on a trip.......

.......because Chefboy just left it "laying Around" back in the employee break area.

No Chance of that with this book!! As I said, too good to put down!!!

Now on to the Solstice and the Shortest Day of the year!! This is 7am.......

....8Am.....

..9Am......

.....10Am......

.....11 Am.....

......And then about Noon a snow storm started.......

......But by 2pm it was all clear again.....Just in time for my photo shoot out near the Northwestern.

I just got home and it is still nice out so I want to take a walk before the sun goes down by 5pm.

I Hope everyone has a Wonderful Solstice!!!

LOL I love that you describe Hamilton's novels as a wee bit naughty; I would say they are much more than a little bit naughty. I have read all of the faerie (Gentry) and vampire (Blake) novels. I'm still reading the Blake series, but I have to say I grew tired of the Gentry story line. Just my personal opinion. Laurell is very good about blogging and has been doing so for years. You can read her blogs on myspace as well.

Great pics today!
Hugs!
