Sunday Brunch weekly Wrap up, City Council, Otter Invasions, Parties, Midnight Madness and a Christmas Tree!

It's one of those days where the Weather could go "Either Way" up Dutch Harbor Way.........

.........but Eddie (My favorite Cook) is back so CB is OK.

These are my "Treasures" from the walk I finally got to take on Friday when we had some Decent weather. I missed incuding them in that grouping of pictures so I put them here. Just Huge pieces on the weather torn up beach.

After so much great food last night I don't know if I can eat anymore..........
But since Paul made Crepes I'll muddle through somehow,,,,,,,,

All the Boys are tired after The Huge Day yesterday (16 hours for some of them) so it is a quiet day in the Kitchen.

The Desserts still came out awesome though, especially Junior's Berry mix topped Cheesecake.

So it has been a busy week for CB. Parties, Decorating, weather damage, City Council meeting, Convention and Visitor Bureau meetings and otter invasions.

It was a rainy night on Tuesday when the Council met.......

.......Mayor Shirley was out of town on business so Katherine was mayor Pro-tem.......

.......and "swore in" our Newest Police officer, and then led a "lively" Council Meeting.

The "Bad Boys" (Don't worry They are actually a bit proud of the title I gave to them) of the City Council were on their game proving that while Democracy is the Greatest form of Government the world has ever known it can be "messy". I wouldn't have it any other way. (Even if the Current Adminstration in Washington DC thinks it can silence Oppossition and the Networks that give voice to half of the American People)

During the Storms this week and last we have had up to 10 otters in Margaret's Bay in front of the hotel. People love to come an watch their playful antics over lunch.

I wish I could have gotten some video with sound of them Cracking open Shellfish on their Tummies. So Loud and soooooo Cute!!!

On Friday after work the storms had cleared out and I was FINALLY able to go for a walk on "Glass Beach" As shown above I found Lots of Treasures!!

It was all over too quickly though. At only 5pm the sun starts going down really quickly ........

..........and goes from This.........

..........to this in no time flat. I know my sister JS will be amazed after she and my Nephew AU had to wear sunglasses at 11pm at night when they were up here for a visit back in July!

So last night was the City of Unalaska Christmas Party as well as "Midnight Madness" down in The Gift Shop and the Margaret Bay Cafe. The City always does a great job setting up a "Kids Room" so that the Parents can have a bit of Fun in the Chart Room.

I just want to say Thank You to all the Great people who make events like this possible, From the Set-up guys, to the servers, to the chefs, to my housekeepers. You are the unsung heroes of the hotel! Thank You!

Midnight Madness got off to a busy start last night with over 20 venders vying for our Christmas Dollars........

Of Course My Favorite was Alena's Mum Sharon, and her sister Lars's stand where they sell some of the Best Chocolates in the world.

And here is CB's Box of Treasures. Literally, I am putting this out there now. If I am to die I request my last meal to be Sharon's Sea Salt Carmels.

I have said before and I will say it again, the Kids in this Community are AWESOME!! From providing wrapping services for some of CB's gifts.........

....to providing Music for the Party, and Baby Sitting Services in the Kid's room. How great are they?

Other Noted Personages at the Party included the "Bad Boys" of City Council and their Beautiful Wives.........

.....CD and AG providing some "Parental Oversight" in the Kids room. (Only one escapee this year! Congrats!!)

Katherine and Two of the Men in her life.........

And for His Mum, Roger, Billie Jo and their "Very" enthusiastic friends.

Yes, they are standing in line for, what else in Unalaska ,but Food?

As you can see an Entire Steamship Round of beef was sliced for the party to order by Eddie!

And The line went on.....

and on.................

And on. It was a solid line for 1 hour and 8 minutes until everyone got fed. WOW!!!

And Thus proving his redeeming Qualities, One of the "Bab Boys" of City Council shows his big Heart by playing Santa for all the Kids!

Way to go Mr Peck!!!

And Finally, on a personal note I found it the highest compliment that so many people are getting their photographs taken with my tree. It means all my hard work was worth it. Thank you all!!!

Ok, Off to a CVB meeting!!!

Have a Great Day!

CB

Merry Christmas season CB!!
Love the LED tree you so lovingly assembled in the lobby. The glow of the LED blue reminds me of the blue AK sunrise sunset skies...an errie rue blue hue.

Amazing clear sea glass too,
DOnna

Wow, so many great pictures. Food looked incredible. I have a question. Does she deliver those candies off the island?
