Saint Michael?....Sunday Brunch, Opie Season on Deadliest Catch Begins, Changing Weather, Flowers, Food, Fun and A Child labor Sweatshop?

Just saying Saint Michael...........Late Monday if Possible................
So Deadliest Catch This week marks the End of the King Crab Season and the Beginning of Opilio. The two boats to watch this season are the Wizard and the Cornelia Marie.
Once you see what goes on you will know WHY I had to keep this a secret!! I am sure Captain Keith and Mystic will have something up on Crabwizard.com soon after.........You will be on the EDGE of your seats!!! YOU MUST WATCH TUESDAY!!!!
Captain Phil Returns (I am just revealing this because the Commercials show it) and the Cornelia Marie is Down for some MAJOR work in Dutch Harbor at the beginning of the Opie season. (Look back at my older posts in Jan for pictures of the Drydock)
BUT NOW it is time for Sunday Brunch!!
The snow keeps retreating up the mountains a bit every day. I should have posted one from back in Jan/Feb to show the difference.
The Sopas were really good.........
As was the Beef Pot Pie.....
Jeff, Willie and Glenn. Glenn Delivers all the Liquor, beer and Soda between the bars for Unisea, and because he delivers Mountain Dew is the most important man on the island.
Junior texting Juno and one of his best friends JP (Look at CD's Blog for JS's Picture http://unalaskamom.blogspot.com/). JP Also Makes his DHD Premere today in CD's Sweatshop! He deserved a break after making.......
Lots of Desserts. INCLUDING STRAWBERRIES this week GbBarb!!
So It was kinda miserable this week up until yesterday........
.....when it went from this.........
.........to this!!!
Oh, And as A side note to CB's Little sis, these two pictures are taken at the airport of the runway where you will be landing in like 33 days!!!!
Miss Veda Got First Pick of the plants at the Alaska Ship Sale and has these wonderful little planters now out in front of her store. Check out her site at http://www.arctic.net/~veda/ for the Unalaska Advertiser.
Ardis and Masi left this week on Vacation. Miss you already!!
And Daryll from Akutan(http://akutanpa.blogspot.com/) left to meet up with his wife for a few weeks in California.
Had some fun parties with of course Great Food..........
Got to go on one or two walks with CD when we were not always in meetings.........
AK Glitter Queen is all about the new Time Bandit store in Homer. THANKS FOR THE TB TEMPORARY TATTOO BTW!!!
Vanessa. Freddie, Lauri http://lauri-lifeontherock.blogspot.com/ and her new Hubby last weekend at the Disco blowout.......
..........and at Bears Birthday Party! Along with Alaska Steve http://senseofplace63.blogspot.com/ and Goldfish. Bear is not really that shiny, but she does look great for 29!!
It's Larz!! The Queen of the Morel Mushroom Hunt this week. Check out her Mum's Page for that http://unalaska.wordpress.com/ . Her and Alena!http://therealunalaska.blogspot.com/ are evidently in a competition every year over them........
Yet ANOTHER piece of Clothing Won at an Auction or party or a door prize. How many Hoodies and t-shirts does one man need?
Like I said Miserable this week.
Buying Troy Booze at the Alaska Ship Supply store. Nothing for us of course.........
The Terrible Trio Alena! (Great a$$!), CB and CD. BFF's Tosting the fruits of Child Labor.........
.......as exemplified in CD's Sweatshop!!
These poor children are forced to toil for hours to make "Sock Puppets" .......Even JP!!
.......even the tineiest of them are pulled from their beds to toil............."Work will keep you warm" was the refrain from the cruel overlord!!
Finally, Late in the evening the Work was done.........
.........and after approval from the cruel overlord, the children were sent off to sleep on their little bamboo rush mats with a 1/2cup of rice. (Hey, maybe if the Volcano does not keep her here, a visit fromt the Department of Labor will! God helps those who help themselves...)

And FINALLY a nother shot of Lauri and her Hero Husband!!

Have a Great Sunday Everyone!!

I just want to know why Alena! and CD get "Get-Well" baskets when they're sick and I get snubbed at the grocery store the next day for missing a get-together while I'm on my death-bed. :-(

If you were at the Grocery store the next day the Death Bed Arguement sorta goes out the Window. Then there are the missed walks because someone is Grumpy.
HUMMMMMMMMM.............

CB, I love your blog! LOL! There is so much more to Dutch than Deadliest Catch and that is cool to see! I feel like, if I were ever privileged enough to visit, I would know places and people. LOL! "I saw you on Dutch Harbor Dirt!" LOL!

HUMMMMMMM .. I guess you have no clue what the life of a "single" mom is all about. Death bed or not, when the kids gotta eat, they gotta eat. So YOUR argument goes right out the window, CB!!

Thank You JCBW!! I'd love to have all of you come visit!!
AG: Just put the kids to work like CD does!!

So, there is a story behind the sock puppets? Are we going to have a puppet show? Does Alexander have a fly in role? The more tees and hoodies you have the longer between laundry days! Love ya, and yes I am feeling better!

Oh, trust me .. once October rolls around and MS gets her driver's license, it is ON! Then, I can send HER to the grocery store and I can be sick in peace! LOL

As always, the Sunday brunch looks heavenly, CB! I'm curious though. You always have such a large spread, especially on the desserts tables. Does it all get eaten or does much of it end up going to waste? LOL I'd offer to come help out with that, but I know it would ALL go to my waist. :o)

CB brunch was wonderful as always. CD'S sweatshop hmm who was it that was photographed BBQing for the employees??? Tuesday's DC does look excitement filled. Now CB you be good and let CD and family go on there vacation no volcano eruptions. If you are good she might bring you some Wrangell beach glass. LOL Thanks for the great pictures as always your blog is great.

bahahah...the sock animals are jsut for fun!! I think they're cute..I had a book, I showed Juno after seeing the adorable little animal she made for the high school art show. She's art-y (won best of show) she needed another project so they started making them all on their own!! I gave them socks (good excuse to get more, right?)I only have one that JR made me! (Ianto is its name...CB's influence) The girls want to charge me $5 per hour for their labor ..we're still negotiating! SP needs to finish his still :) The pigs were harder than they looked.

"Work will keep you warm" JP looking all cold...."Grass huts" ??? it's UNALASKA...kinda windy for grass huts...and really rice? pure sugar, I'd NEVER feed anyone rice...how would they have energy to toil!? This post makes me laugh to myself every time I see it!

Except for wondering what sort of meteorological event will occur tomorrow! I see blue right now, so it's looking good for Lauri & hubby YAY!

Morning CB, thanks for brunch, even if I am a day late. Chocolate strawberries can survive one day, right?

I see you have been a bad boy, speeding and causing trouble. I can leave you alone for one week without you getting in trouble.

Speaking of getting in trouble, you in deep because I never got my Jake pic so I expect spoilers in an email from you within the week. Hey, its worth a shot. Don't worry I won't tell you can trust me!!!

Nice way to TRY to distract Cruel Overlord! The Bamboo Rush mats are what the Children Sleep on. I felt SOOO sorry for them that I just had to cook so that they would get some protein!! If you look at the pictures you will notice I snuck them some Mountain Dew too!! It is just the Humanitarian in me I guess..
AND I believe SOMEONE had rice with their Lunch on Saturday....
You had forewarning about the Meterological Event Last Evening..

Cookie Dough said...

Even in the most sexually liberated and self-satisfied of nations, many people still yearn to burn more, to feel ready for bedding no matter what the clock says and to desire their partner of 23 years as much as they did when their love was brand new.
The market is saturated with books on how to revive a flagging libido or spice up monotonous sex, and sex therapists say “lack of desire” is one of the most common complaints they hear from patients, particularly women.
