Unalaska High School Graduation 2010, Starring Derick and Alicia (Formeraly Known as Junior and Juno), and a Modified Sunday Brunch/Late Night SnacK

The Day Has Finally Arrived...
Derick........
And Alicia Graduated High School last night.......
.....So Join his Mum CD, AG and all the Rest of Unalaska at the Ceremony.
CD was amazingly strong and only cried a little.
Ms Graves also has a Daughter Graduating, Seranna.
CB Dropped off one of Alicia, and
Derick's Presents before the start of the Ceremony, New Watches!

The Band was playing music throughout.....
While Family (CD, Dylls and Captain T's Mum shown here)
And Friends (Like Ms Lynch) and myself gathered to cheer the kids on. CD and Tammers to her left had a tough time being up there on stage throughout the Ceremony and not crying but they both Did Great!

Derick and Alicia got to walk in together.

Some of my Favorite Ladies in Unalaska there in the Back row, Denise Rankin, Michelle Cochran and Madam Mayor Shirley Marquart.

Jack
Patrick

And Teachers

All did small speaches before the Awarding of Scholarships....

Which Went on.......

..........and on

.....and on........

........and on.......

......and on.........
Michelle handing out the Unisea Scholarships

.................and on..................

............. And On.................
The Mayor and Councilman Zac handing out the City Scholarships........

(Dang Tammers, our Kids are really Cleaning House with theses scholarships)

..........and on.........
And finally they were done. Over 100 Scholarships were handed out to the Graduating Class
Then It was time for a short Musical Interlude .........

Followed by a Slide Show........
Of the Kids as they grew up through the years.........

Although the quality of these photos is poor, I am happy to say that several of my shots of the kids were included.

The Amazing Alicia (Formerally Juno on this Blog) was before Derick

Alicia Hugging her Mum
And Who can make SUSAN LYNCH Cry.........

........It has to be this Guy!!
And then it was CD's Turn!

Congratulations Derick!

Congratulations Alicia!

The Happy Couple.........
Little do they know what was done to their Car in the Parking lot......

Then It was on to the All Night/Overnight Graduation Party at the Bowling Alley.
Tammers, CD, Mae (Alicia's Mum) and Miss Susan helped out decorating all this week.
In addition to Bowling there was Blackjack

And A music/Game room/Quiz room where all the seniors could win Scholarship money as well!
A great Turnout for this overnight treat!

Not only for Seniors, their friends can come too
But what is a Party in Unalaska without food?
Seriously, I do not think I have ever been At an event in this town (Besides Late City Council Meetings) where food is not served!

Lots of Great Snacks and Drinks to keep the Party going all night!

Even Custom Ordered M&M's!

And CD Finally Found A use for that silver ribbon she kept from her wedding to The Best Capatin in the Bering Sea, Captain Troy!

Why does Dylls, who is just going into High School look Older than his Brother who just Graduated?

Even AG's Daughter MS and her new Beau got caught up in the fun.

Noah, Cass and Jack trying their hand at Blackjack
(Veda's Recent Trip to Reno must have rubbed off on her employee!)
The Answer was HERSEY PA Kids!!

One of CD's Marshmallow Squares

The Magnuson's with the exception of Manderzz
They all stayed all night but I left at Midnight to post this. (Still light out as you can see)

Congratulations to all the Kids, but especially to Derick and Alicia.
I am So Proud of Both of you.
Have a Great Sunday everyone!

K..all the pictures havne't loaded but I CANNONT wait to see them all....THANK YOU so much CB for being such a great friend and documenting so much of such a special night for all of us (the whole town really takes Grad night seriuously here!) I'm misty-eyes YET again...it's been a joke about me crying so much (he's a cool kid, I'm going to miss him!)
It was THE BEST NIGHT!!! We didn't get home until 6am...it was beginging to get light. Miss Bella had A LOT of sleep, as nobody was keeping her company all evening and was not going to let me sleep anymore....AGAIN we love you CB, thanks for being a GREAT GUY!!

I can remember graduating from high school. About three hours later, driving around, I thought: "Shit. NOW what do I do?"

What a great post!! At the time, graduation didn't seem like a big deal to me... just a 'get me out of here' thing. Now, I look back and realize how important it is to the graduates and their friends and family. What a special night. I loved the slide show during the ceremony. Very neat idea!! And big congrats about so many scholarships. It speaks so well of the students but also their community!

Graduation is always a special time. A great combination of Happy, Sad and full of Eagerness. Thank you very much for the pictures. A couple of questions and maybe I missed it earlier. Is Derrick aka Jr. still going into the culinary field or what will his major be at school which is in Seattle isn't it? and What are Alicia's (Juno's) plans?
