Hi Everyone! Little Tied up today with Hotel and other commitments but Just wanted to check in. First of all a Dakota update for Dan hiking in the Swiss Alps. As you can see above she is just fine and having alot of fun wrestling for driftwood and getting lots of walks.
In other news the Shell explotitary drill rig was brought into Captains Bay yesterday for mooring.
All of the Shell Oil folks have been so Wonderful during their entire stay. The amount of training they are having everyone do, and their utter professionalism is a testament to the true nature of "Big Oil". They are not the evil money grubbing villians the politicians try to make them out to be. Really great people doing their best to provide energy for this Country. I'd rather deal with them than any politican from Washington DC.
Anyway, Off for now, I'll try to post more this week as the hotel slows down a bit..........

CB great shots. Wow that is one big rig. So nice to see that they are a good company always training. They sound like good people to work with. Dakota looks very well fed and happy hope Dan is having a great hike. I hope you get some CB time to rest some after your busy week. Have a great Labor Day.
pretty neat to see the big rig being pulled by such a little tug. hope Dan is doing well. Hope your week calms down a bit. HUGS hun
Shame on you CB for not mentioning the big yellow and black Ice Breaker. The "Tor Viking" that is shown in many of your pictures.
A big part of the Shell operation.
Also we have a red Ice breaker that is not shown.
Great pictures though. "Drill baby Drill"
Thanks for sharing the link, but unfortunately it seems to be offline... Does anybody have a mirror or another source? Please answer to my post if you do!
I would appreciate if a staff member here at dutchharbordirt.blogspot.com could post it.
Thanks,
William
Love the pics, never seen an oil rig up close....how did it get to Dutch did the tugs tow it the whole way or does it have it's own power? Did a bigger ship tow it there and the tugs took over?
I think it got towed the Wntire way Reading.
What Link Annonymous?
