Fathers Day Brunch on the longest day of the Year, Staff Miss Junior, Beautiful Day, Fibs about snow, and The OM will be joined by the Sans Souci!

Welcome everyone to Sunday Brunch at the Grand Aleutian Hotel Located in BEAUTIFUL Dutch Harbor/Unalaska Alaska!
As you Regular followers can see the "Greening" of Bunker Hill, as seen from my Apartment window continues with breakneck speed. For those of you in the northern US the temperatures are about like early to Mid April.

The Longest Day of the Year, and Fathers Day to boot, is shaping up to be a nice one!!

Although even the shortest day back in December turned out to be pretty spectacular!! The above shot was taken about 10am on that day.

11Am

About 10:30am
Now, On to some Serious Business.

Sunday Brunch without Junior is just not the same.........

In fact the Crew may go on strike of he is not home soon..............Just Saying CD!!

They even worked EXTRA SPECIAL hard on Desserts today, but they still don't look as good as when Junior is here. Though there are some Strawberries for GbBarb to steal.........

The next shot shows Dan's Boat that CB's Little Sis and Nephew will be taking a ride or two in when they get up here in less than 5 days!!

A Shot of the Deck at the Grand with Lupines in the foreground. I could not decide which I liked best so I just posted both!

More and More flowers are springing up every day.......Like I said earlier it's like April!

The water was soooo still and beautiful in Margarets Bay today I thought I would try one of Alaska Steve's things and get some Reflection photos.

This last one is my favorite, though It's not "Centered". Still though I like photos as they are, not Cropped and stretched to someones idea of "perfection". Life is not always perfect, why should an arbitray defination of beauty be?

There have been some Rumors, Fibs I say that there has been fresh snowfall up on some of the mountains. I wont name names but if you gotta know.... http://unalaska.wordpress.com/
Hogwash! And I have photographic Proof!! Lets take a look at Pyramid Peak as our test case..........

Pyramid in December....

January

February-March part of April.......

And then a photo taken Right Before CD abandoned Alena! AG, and I.......

This one taken a week later

Following week.......

The Next Week.....

And Now today!

As you can see the retreat of the snow is proceeding quite nicely! Anything else anyone is seeing must just be an optical Illusion or Frost. (Sorry everyone, but my sister is coming in 5 days and I want everything PERFECT!)

More and more boats are coming to Dutch/Unalaska every day!
And the party on the Japanese Ship the other night was great.

Sorry for the quality of this, taken with my dirty I-Phone! ;-)

Now soon a group of Three ships will be Arriving in Dutch. on the Great Siberian Sushi Run!

And a Thank you to Alaska Dave at http://alaskan-adventures.blogspot.com/
For giving me all the great info on this Group.
How about EVERYONE today go pay Dave a visit on his site and maybe he will blog more.........LOL!!!!

They look like a Fun Group and should fit in well in Dutch/Unalaska.

Anyway though, Got a lot to do today to get ready to be off when My sister and nephew get here so I will sign off now!!

Happy Father's Day!!!

The "Great Siberian Sushi Run" consists of three large pleasure boats from Seattle.

They will be visiting Dutch Harbor for a few days and we suggested they do the Sunday Brunch at the Grand Aleutian

From Dutch Harbor they will travel west to Adak and Attu and then across the Bering Sea to Russia and down to Japan.
