Cornelia Marie Update, and The NW gets some good news....

The Weather has not been nice here so The Cornelia Marie will be heading to drydock tomorrow at 11am AST. I will be right there to see them off, and hopefully capture some of the 4 hour long procedure that goes into "Lifting" them out of the water.

I did my daily pennance, and went down and visited the Poor, Lonely Northwestern. She was in a bit better mood once I told her the Camera crew was coming today to put all the stuff up for the season. By the end she was laughing and joking again, but still as I pulled away I swear I could see her looking off in the Distance for The Hansens..........

as much as I hate it that the Cornelia Marie is going into dry dock, I sure hope you get some pictures of it. I am interested in seeing how the process works, and if you see Phil and can snap a pic of him, well that wouldn't be a bad thing, in my opinion. Stay safe and warm, I may owe you a few drinks by the time the season is over!!

Thank you for visiting the pretty lady CB. Makes all of us feel better knowing shes well guarded and being kept company. I cant wait to see pics of the boat coming out of the water. That should be interesting.

Did you tell her Tante Frieda said hi and keep her bow up, the boys will be there shortly? If not, tell her tomorrow.

Visiting the Northwestern is doing pennance? Oh, CB, that just wounds me! I'd be glad to come up and take your place - no sacrifice is too much. Could I send you my boss's phone number first though? I don't think she'll believe exactly why I'm asking for time off if I tell her myself. ;o)

Kathy!!!I was using the word "Pennance" in the Old English way, meaning daily ritual, not in an unpleasant way.
And Yes Frieda, Every day I tell her that she is loved and that Bonnie, Frieda and Helen think of her every day.
She still will not tell me who parked her that way though.....Which MUST mean it is Jake as I think she has a crush on him.

Looks like I need to find a better online dictionary. It seems we've spelled it wrong (just one 'n'), and all I can find are references to the sacrement of Confession/Reconciliation. Actually, I like doing searches like this. Never know what you're going to learn. It's like losing yourself in a library, with no heavy books to worry about carrying home and returning by the date due.

Thanks CB. Aha yeah a bit hard to steal something from atop a stack of pots :-) Send my regards to the Princess NW and tell her not be sad, the boys will be there shortly and I'll send some white paint in a care package. ;-)

So happy to have found your blog. My husband is a commercial fisherman on the east coast and we love DC! I can't believe the next season isn't starting till April. With your blog, the wait won't be so bad! I puffy heart the C.M. and Cpt. Phil!

Weather not good, ice up around St. Paul - this is typical, isn't it? Should make for a good DC season, but we'll worry about the fleet - that is until we read your posts and are assured that everyone is coming in and safe. Thanks for the news on the CM and the dry process will be worth waiting for, that is providing you get over there and get some shots.

Thanks CB for keeping us up to date on the CM... she's my favorite but little Miss NW is up there too. Love her lines, who said a boat cant be sexy?

Make sure you bundle up when you go to take pic's of the CM.

Can you add my love to the NW. Her loving captain and crew should be up there soon to take proper care of her. But Im sure they feel better knowing shes safe and cared for while they are away.

CB, couple of questions. Was Phil skippering the CM when it came in? And has the Time Bandit come in yet? Where do they go when they bring the boats in so far in advance of beginning the season? Ok, so that was 3 questions.

Carlisle,
Thanks so much for the pics and information! Gotta love the Cornelia Marie and Crew... They're TOPS in my book. I have a soft spot for all the others but the CM will always be tops!
